Recruiting OBU signs 36 for 2025

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University football team has released a list of 36 high school seniors that will join the Tigers for the 2025 season and beyond as a part of National Signing Day.

The 2025 class features 20 from the state of Arkansas, 11 from Texas, four from Louisiana, and one from Florida. Of the 20 from Arkansas, 14 hail from within a 90-mile radius of Arkadelphia, including five from the reigning Arkansas Class 7A state champion Bryant Hornets.

"Our coaching staff did an excellent job of really focusing in on what our needs were heading into the offseason," said Ouachita Head Coach Todd Knight. "As always, our standard is we start from home and move out, which has really shown and continues to showcase the high level of football being played in high schools close by and in surrounding states like Texas and Louisiana."

Knight noted special emphasis given to the defensive line and quarterback position groups, two areas that lost a lot to graduation. "We found young men who not only fit the athleticism and talent that we were looking for, but they also have so many other traits that are important to our program like high character, strong academics, and strong in their faith."

This group of signees joins a program that has posted 16 consecutive winning seasons, which is the longest active streak among all college football programs in the state of Arkansas. The Tigers won the program's seventh Great American Conference championship this past season and made the NCAA Division II playoffs for the sixth time with a final record of 10-2.

"High school recruiting has been so important to us and it's one of the main reasons we've been able to sustain such a high level of success on the field. I'm looking forward to seeing how these new young men impact our program over the next few years."

The breakdown of the 2025 signing class has 19 offensive players, 15 defensive players, and two specialists. The largest position group in the class is defensive backs with six, followed by five linebackers, five offensive linemen, five receivers, four defensive linemen, four quarterbacks, three running backs, one kicker/punter, one tight end, one fullback, and one long snapper.

Recruiting UAPB signs 23 for Class of 2025

PINE BLUFF, AR Alonzo Hampton, the head football coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, announced the signing of 23 student-athletes last night during an event held in a packed room at the UAPB Stem Building on campus. The group consists of 11 mid-year enrollees and 12 incoming freshmen.

Last season, the Golden Lions boasted one of the top offensive units in the conference. This year, they have focused on strengthening the offense further while adding key pieces to the defense. The defensive side will benefit from returning most of a committed and experienced group eager to be more aggressive this year.

"We are very excited to announce our 2025 recruiting class," said Hampton. "Our staff did an excellent job identifying student-athletes who fit UAPB both on and off the field. We have players who can stretch the field with speed, and we've also improved our offensive line to be bigger and stronger, as well as bolstered our defensive lineup. We've added some key pieces that will complement a group that will play with a very aggressive mindset."

Recruiting UAM Boll Weevils Sign 29 on NSD 2025

University of Arkansas at Monticello head football coach Hud Jackson announced the addition of 29 Boll Weevils during National Signing Day on Wednesday.

"I am extremely excited about the young men that have signed with us today," said head Coach Hud Jackson. "We feel like we went out and found the best fit for (UAM). The whole landscape of recruiting has changed in the NCAA, but we still feel that it's important to get high school kids that we can develop And kids that'll buy into the Boll Weevil way. We have so much happening at our university, specifically athletics, that gets a lot of people excited about the direction of our football program. So much change coming ahead that will help us to get quality players at UAM. Our players that we have in school now have been working extremely hard during this off-season. We know that it will all pay off, and with these new faces that we have here, we feel we can do some very special things in the future. We realize we have to raise the bar to be competitive, and we have done that. Eat'em up!"

Looking to #RAISETHEBAR, this year's group consists of 29 players, with 19 on the offensive side and 10 on the defensive side, including 12 from the state of Arkansas, nine from Louisiana, and eight from Texas.

"We are extremely excited about the group of guys that we have joining the family today," said Offensive Coordinator Josh Qualls. "The talent in this signing class is special and we can't wait to get to work. Eat 'em up!"

The offensive signing class includes eight wide receivers, six offensive linemen, three running backs, one tight end, and one quarterback.

"As always, we wanted to focus on bringing in high character, physical, tough, young men,"
said Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator Steve Wright. "Our staff is very excited to continue their development. They are coming to us from great programs and great coaches. These young men are coming to Monticello with a purpose and passion for the university that will be reflected in their work over the next 4-5 years."

Arkansas-Monticello's defense welcomes four defensive backs, four linebackers, and two athletes.

The Boll Weevils are more than excited to start spring practices, inviting fans and supporters to attend them throughout the semester. The 2025 season kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 5 when UAM travels to Durant, Oklahoma to take on the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The game will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at Paul Laird Field.

Recruiting SAU signs 38 in Class of 2025

Coming off of back-to-back 9+ win campaigns on the gridiron, fourth-year head coach Brad Smiley and his Southern Arkansas staff have now turned their attention toward the 2025 season as they welcome in 38 new Muleriders who have placed pen to paper for National Signing Day 2025. That total includes 15 transferring into Magnolia while the remaining 23 come straight out of high school.

The up-and-coming 2025 class includes 21 players on the offensive side of the ball, while the remaining 17 reside on the defensive side. The Muleriders definitely showed out with another fantastic performance covering all signing periods as the Muleriders' staff brought in 15 players from Texas, eight from Arkansas, and seven from Louisiana. This year saw some change-ups geographically as Southern Arkansas welcomed two athletes from Alabama and one from Florida, Georgia, and Arizona.

Coach Smiley, Defensive Line Coach/Recruiting Coordinator TJ Langley, Assistant Head Football Coach/Offensive Line Coach J Pond, Offensive Coordinator Kyle Washington, and Defensive Coordinator Dionte Dean discuss the latest recruiting class and the program's plans for the spring.

The remaining signees came from the states of Louisiana and Tennessee (two each)."I'm really excited about the future that these young men are going to provide here at Henderson," head coach Greg Holsworth said. Recruiting Arkansas Tech signs 32 in Class of 2025

A new era of Arkansas Tech football took another milestone step on Wednesday as new head football coach Roy Thompson announced the signing of his first recruiting class. The initial class features 32 signees with all but two coming from the prep ranks.

"We are excited about the young men that we added to the Wonder Boy family today," said Thompson. "We were able to address our needs in several areas with stellar athletes all around, but especially in our defensive line, wide receiver and running back rooms."

The state producing the most future Wonder Boys was Texas as Thompson and his staff signed 16 players from Texas. Looking to recruit locally as well as regionally Thompson's first signing class at Tech features nine from the Natural State and three from our neighbors to the south in Louisiana. The states of Alabama, Arizona, Georgia and Mississippi are also represented in the class.

"Our coaches did a great job signing top talent from Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana," added Thompson. I look forward to seeing these guys in Green and Gold!"

In terms of position breakdown, the Wonder Boys inked 17 players on defense, 13 on offense, while two are listed as an athlete.

On the defensive side, most signees are coming to Tech to battle in the trenches as the Wonder Boys added nine linemen. Six players were added as linebackers while two bolster the defensive backfield.

Offensively, the Wonder Boys focused on skill position players and along the line. A total of five wide receivers were added to the mix along with three running backs and three offensive linemen. Additionally, they inked a quarterback and a tight end.
