This morning's camp was a good one in Little Rock. 88 kids showed up, and there were some guys who stood out, and may have helped themselves out today.
Dardanelle DB Chris Kershner ran a 4.38 40-yard-dash and had a good camp.
Rison DE Chris Leaks ran a 4.9 40-yard-dash, and had a solid performance. He was invited to the July 19th camp.
LR Christian DT Dylan Hays is a name to keep your eyes on. He was very impressive, and was pulled to the side for some individual work with Brian Early. It doesn't look like the A-State staff was aware of him before this camp, but they certainly know who he is now. I'm not going to be surprised if he doesn't land an offer before the summer is out.
Benton Harmony Grove DB Jon Johnson may have helped his stock. He ran a 4.59 40-yard-dash, and was invited to the July 19th camp in Jonesboro.
Conway QB Breylin Smith looked solid today, and threw a lot of nice balls. He made good adjustments when receivers ran the wrong routes. He ran a 4.94 40-yard-dash.
Sheridan OT Jacob Atnip was impressive at the camp. He's gained offers from La Tech and ULM in the past two weeks, and A-State certainly seems interested in learning more about him. He is big, but he is quick and can move. He will be at the camp on July 19th as well.
Sheridan ATH Brockton Brown worked as a WR, and it was his first time doing so at any camps, but the A-State coaching staff said they couldn't tell it was his first time to do so. They invited him to the July 19th camp and said they would like to see him work at DB.
Hot Springs Lakeside WR Maurice Bradford was impressive. He ran a 4.75 40-yard-dash, and looked good in the drills.
Lonoke ATH Justin Meadows ran a 4.35 40-yard-dash and looked solid in the position drills. He will be at the July 19th camp also.
Overall, Dylan Hays was by far the most impressive athlete I saw today. He is a stud player who knows how to get the job done.
