I have an update on the situation, and it comes courtesy of David Harten of ArPreps.com. David was able to speak with AAA Executive Director Lance Taylor regarding this situation. I attempted to call, but they obviously shut the office down early.
According to David, Mineral Springs DID play an ineligible player, but due to the schools which turned them in waiting so long to do so, nothing will be done.
According to Taylor, Rule 1, Sec. 4 of the AAA Handbook states that teams aware of another teams violations have five days to report said allegations, and the teams which reported Mineral Springs did not do so within the five day window.
In fact, ArkansasVarsity.com sources have indicated that Nashville is the school which tipped off the schools which turned Mineral Springs in, and the other schools have allegedly known about the situation since at least week three in the season.
Sources stated that the reporting school wanted to wait until the season was over so they would be ruled ineligible for the playoffs.
Mineral Springs will be able to play in the playoffs, however the player in question will not be able to play.
